We are in search of one superstar manager to champion the coordination and enhancement of our special projects, events and publications. This unique position is an integral part of the advertising sales department but is also the driving force in the development of all marketing initiatives including trade fairs, business association contacts and marketing collateral. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of marketing coordination and/or publishing experience.

The right candidate will be highly motivated, assertive, enthusiastic, well organized, computer proficient, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. They must be able to deal with multiple priorities as well as have a strong work ethic.

Advertising Account Executive

This position is accountable for meeting and exceeding revenue objectives by providing consultative services to existing clients through the development of strategic marketing plans. In addition, you will lead the acquisition effort to gain new business by demonstrating The Princeton Packet's abilities to meet their advertising needs through effective print and web based advertising.

We reward our sales force with a competitive compensation plan that includes salary, uncapped incentive plan and a well rounded benefits plan.

We are seeking a research savvy marketing professional to assist and coordinate projects and activities. The individual will work with the advertising department to develop strategic sales plans utilizing research, while developing accurate and compelling sales collateral.

A bachelor’s degree and one to two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and marketing/research experience required. Familiarity of The Press' geographical area is desired. Knowledge of and/or familiarity of Scarborough Research and PrimeNext software are preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly developed people skills and demonstrated time management skills required.

Managing Editor (Newspaper/Website)

Overview: Atlantic City Weekly, a member of the Review Publishing newspaper group of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced editor or a journalist with at least three years of experience as a managing, associate or assistant editor.

Atlantic City Weekly, established in 1974 as Whoot Newspaper, serves Atlantic County and Cape May County in South Jersey.

Responsibilities: The managing editor is responsible for proofreading/copy-editing, assisting in several aspects of the weekly production process, assigning creative and compelling articles for publication, writing compelling articles, including updated content for our website.

Qualifications/Skills: Qualified applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree in journalism, great communications and organizational skills and be experienced with InDesign and Web publishing. Audio/video experience a plus.

Compensation: We offer competitive earnings and a comprehensive benefit package.

Virginia Coalition for Open Government seeks Executive Director

Wanted: Energetic person to lead the Virginia Coalition for Open Government into its second decade.

The mission of the Coalition is to educate the public and government officials about the importance of open government, to advocate access to local and state governments, to monitor access issues, to lobby lawmakers on issues related to freedom of information (within IRS limits), and to be a resource for the public, the press and the government on access-related issues.

The executive director is responsible for leading the Coalition’s programs of education, lobbying and fundraising. He or she must manage an annual budget and an endowment fund.

The executive director must also oversee an interactive website and daily listserv, supervise a part-time assistant and produce a newsletter at least twice a year.

The executive director is expected to help the Coalition anticipate emerging issues and devise strategies to address them, to broaden and increase the Coalition’s membership and to raise funds.

It is important that the executive director be a visionary, capable of coordinating the open government efforts of affiliate constituencies and developing a strategy for continuing the Coalition’s goals in education, lobbying and financial security.

Candidates must have bachelor’s degrees in journalism, communication, government, business or related fields and an employment history that reflects compatibility with the mission of the Coalition. An advanced degree is desirable.

Compensation consists of a salary and benefits package of approximately $50,000 per year. Possible benefits include telecommuting within Virginia and a flex-time work schedule. Part-time compensation and a part-time work schedule can be negotiated except during legislative sessions.
